Ivica Dačić
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior
Born on 1 January 1966 in Prizren. He completed the Stevan Sremac Grammar School in Niš. He graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, with a grade point average of 10 (ten).
From 1992, he was a deputy in the Federal Assembly of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and from 2004 he was also a deputy in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
He was Minister of Information in the Transitional Government of Serbia in 2000. He has been President of the Socialist Party of Serbia since 2006.
He was First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior from July 2008 to July 2012. He served as Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior from July 2012 to April 2014. From April 2014 to October 2020, he was First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. From October 2020 to August 2022, he served as Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
From October 2022 to May 2024, he served as First Deputy Prime Minister responsible for foreign policy and security and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He has been the Secretary of the National Security Council since October 2022.
Since 2 May 2024, he has served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.
He has decades of experience and results achieved through participation and leadership roles in various executive and legislative bodies in the Republic of Serbia. In 2015, he was the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
He received The Best Man of Europe award in 2009, the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation in 2018 and the Captain Miša Anastasijević Statuette recognition in 2018.
In 2022, he was decorated with the Order of Republika Srpska on a sash, on the occasion of the Republika Srpska Day.
He received the Key to the City award together with the Honorary Citizen of the City of Banja Luka Charter for the year 2024.
He held the positions of President of the Belgrade Basketball Club Partizan, Vice President of the Yugoslav Olympic Committee and President of the Sports Association of Serbia.
He is married to Sanja and is the father of Luka and Andrea.
